Recommended Equipment List

The Credit Valley Minor Hockey Association provides all of its players with a team sweater and a pair of socks. These items are kept by the player at the end of the season.  Click here for "Equipment Tips", courtesy of Play It Again Sports, to assist you with hockey equipment sizing.

Here are the "basic" equipment requirements:

  • CSA-approved helmet & FULL-face mask
  • (wire mesh or clear plastic)
  • BNQ-approved neck guard / throat protector
  • shoulder pads
  • elbow pads
  • hockey pants
  • hockey gloves
  • hockey stick
  • jock (jill for girls)
  • shin/knee pads
  • straps (velcro) or tape to hold the pads (as required)
  • hockey skates

It is recommended by the MHL that all players wear CSA approved mouth guards.

Keep your Equipment Clean!

As the exclusive equipment cleaning service provider of the MHL, "Hockey Clean" will be providing all MHL members and their families with discounted rates on equipment cleaning and sanitation services throughout the season. Hockey Clean will arrange for pick up and drop off of your equipment at a convenient location, clean all items within your bag (including skates, clothing and even the bag itself), and as an added bonus, repair any nicks or tears as required.
